02 · Verify the evidence
The editorial team checks the request against the cited source, current dataset notes and the reviewed version of the page.

When a correction is verified, the affected content is updated, reviewed again and given an updated review date or material-change note where appropriate.
What to expect after you report an issue
What should I include?
Include the page URL, the exact sentence or data point, why it may be incorrect and a reliable supporting source when available.
How do you decide whether to change a page?
We compare the request with the current source evidence, dataset scope and the reviewed publication record. A change is made only when the correction is verified.
Will my contact details appear in a public correction note?
No. Contact details used to respond to a request are not included in public correction notes.
Does submitting a request immediately change or remove the page?
No. Submission begins a review. Content is corrected, clarified or withheld from discovery only after the issue is assessed.
